The California T, designed by the Ferrari-style center in collaboration with Pininfarina, is a refined Ferrari Gran Turismo with high ergonomics in an environment of craftsmanship and high quality.
The proportions are typical Ferrari ones. The style of the front side is inspired by the famous “pontoon” mudguard of the 250 Testa Rossa with the long front mudguard reaching out towards the rear, more compact and muscular, thus giving momentum and dynamism to the side.
The interiors represent a perfect integration between the innovation of volumes, dry and functional shapes and the strong bond with the Ferrari brand, guaranteed by typical elements such as the separation between the dashboard and tunnel, round vents, the multifunction steering wheel, the control bridge on the tunnel. All packed with elegant materials and finishes assembled by hand and with a strong focus on function.
The Turbo Performance Engineer (TPE) is housed between the air diffusers, a refined instrument equipped with a capacitive ring which, through the digital display, provides indications on how to make the most of the engine. The new infotainment system is designed for maximum immediacy of use in terms of navigation and access to functionality.
The 3,855 cm3 V8 develops 560 HP (145 HP / l, top of its class) and a maximum torque which, in seventh gear, is 755 Nm. Against 70 HP more and a torque greater than 49%, consumption drops by 15%. Autonomy increases by 20%. The turbo lag has been practically canceled thanks to the containment of masses and inertia and to the flat shaft, derived from F1, and to the innovative Twin Scroll turbines. The ever-increasing thrust is guaranteed by proprietary software (Variable Boost Management) which delivers the torque according to the gear. Thanks to the design and construction techniques the sound is powerful and enveloping.
The behavior is typical of a sports car thanks to the reduced steering activity and the readiness of the steering, obtained with a new steering box and a new mechanical set up. The latest generation Magnaride springs and shock absorbers, 50% faster, together with the case accelerometers, ensure a reduction in roll and pitch. Electronic systems represent the state of the art in the sector, with the latest evolution of F1-Track traction control, SCM3 magneterological suspensions, ESP 8.0 Premium integrated with the CCM3 braking system for the management of performance ABS.
